March is Craft Madness Month! - Winter sometimes seems to last forever! So if you're getting that cabin fever feeling, or the itch to get out and do something after being holed up for so long, come join us during any of the weekends in March. We'll be doing a craft of some sort EVERY weekend in March! EVERYONE is invited - some crafts have costs associated as we will be providing all the materials you need. Check it out! Pick your favorite or come to ALL of them! Call for details if you have any questions. Reservations are required. All welcome! No visitor fees, just craft fees.
Nature's Arrangement Weekend - March 3rd - We'll kick off this weekend with a beautiful table centerpiece using the natural products you find in Big South Fork - with a few other added touches. When we're done, you'll have a beautiful arrangement to showcase on your kitchen table, foyer table or end table. Reservations and payment are required in advance. Must sign up no later than February 17th. All welcome! No visitor fees, just craft fees.
Multi-Craft Weekend - March 10th - We have a THREE (3) different crafts that you can make and take home with you this week. You don't need that crafty bone - we've found great country crafts that everyone can do! We will provide the supplies and the directions. You just show up and we'll show you the rest! After we are done you can take them home and show them off! Cost will be $25 per person Reservations are required. Must sign up no later than February 24th. All welcome! No visitor fees, just craft fees.
Wind Chime Weekend - March 17th - How would you like to make some wind chimes to decorate your porch or barn? Anyone can do it! You'd be surprised! Then take them home and show them off! Reservations and payment are required in advance. Must sign up no later than March 3rd. All welcome! No visitor fees, just craft fees. Cost will be $25 per person

Pet Talent Show - April 7th - Does your dog give high fives, roll over or play dead? Does your horse know how to count, bow, or lay down on command? Does your cat play fetch? Does your rooster crow on command? Bring all your talented pets and show off their skills! Prizes for First, Second, and Third. $10 registration fee - all proceeds go to the local animal shelter. All welcome.
Couples Overnight ride to Charit Creek Lodge - April 13th-15th - Couples Overnight ride to Charit Creek Lodge. Built in the early 1800's, and on America's National Historical Register, this rustic homestead is one of the few places in United States that is still in existence and fully operational with NO ELECTRICITY! AND, if that's not cool enough, you can only get there by horseback or hiking!! Arrive on Friday night and we'll trailer over to Charit Creek Trail Head. Ride down to the Lodge and explore this romantic landmark before enjoying dinner at the lodge. On Saturday morning, we'll enjoy a home cooked breakfast before heading out to ride through beautiful Big South Fork. Gorgeous trails, beautiful creek crossings and bluffs.Maybe some star gazing too! Back to the lodge for Dinner and some group time around the campfire. Loads of fun and laughter for the whole group! Enjoy another home cooked breakfast on Sunday, maybe squeeze in a hike to Twin Arches (optional - hiking trail only) and then ride back to True West. Space is limited - only 10 covered stalls and 2 corrals available to the first ten people - (5) couples - to sign up. Call for pricing.
All Chocolate weekend! - April 21st - Back by popular demand!! It's our 6th Annual All Chocolate weekend!! Chocolate fondue on Friday night meet and greet. Take the opportunity to get to know your fellow campers! Make some new friends. You never know, you could live close by or have lots of things in common. It's happened before! Lots of friendships are made at True West. So you bring the snacks to dip, we'll provide the chocolate and let the socializing begin! Saturday it's BINGO for CHOCOLATE! Grab your new best friends and get a chance to win chocolate throughout the night and possibly the grand prize; A Basket of Chocolate goodies! This is just too fun to miss out on! Stick around, pull up a chair and relax after the fun dies down and join us for a movie on the common area.
Ride for the Brand HwN Spring Ride & Mexican night - April 27th-29th - The HwN Spring Ride for the Brand at True West Campground in Jamestown, TN will be April 27th-29th. The theme is Mexican! Cha-cha-chaaa!! In Mexico, on April 28th it's the Newport to Ensenada International Yacht Race. We'll have some Yacht races of our own! Be prepared to have fun! Details to follow. Make your reservations soon and let's fill this campground with Hags, Haghim's and Hagglets!! If you are not an official "Hag" yet, please sign up on the FB page "Hags with Nags"

Kentucky Derby Night - May 5th - Not only is the Kentucky Derby Running today, it's also Cinco-de-Mayo! So why not combine two celebrations in one! Enjoy the trails in BSF all day on Saturday and then when you get back to camp we'll have Mexican pot luck dinner on the enclosed common area. Bring your favorite Mexican dish. We'll tape the race and then play it during dinner. Wear your Derby hats - with a little Mexican flair - and you could win a prize! FUN FUN FUN!! Join us!!
7th annual AREA WIDE yard-sale, Tack Swap! - May 12th - Need to clean out your shed or is your tack room filled with unused tack? Bring your old or outgrown tack to either donate to a worthy cause or to swap/sell. We'll help you sell it! Just bring your (gently used) tack and/or any yard sale items you want to sell. Can't man your own table because you want to ride? We'll man it for you as consignment (items must be priced). Not camping here but live in the surrounding area? Bring your stuff! Open to EVERYONE in the area. We'll do all the advertising for you - all you have to do is SELL SELL SELL!
Memorial Day Weekend (3 night minimum stay) - May 26th-28th Catered Dinner of Burgers, Dogs, salads, drink and dessert plus a Live Band Saturday night (entertainers TBD)! $12.00/pp (reservations required). Scavenger Hunt - July 7th - Take nothing but pictures, leave nothing but footprints. We'll give you a list of natural things you would find out in Big South Fork and you take pictures and "bring them back". Riders can earn up to 100 points if all items are found and the mystery points are received. Anyone can play and you can ride on any trail. Return to camp and we'll download your photos, tally your points and you could win a free weekend stay!! Wait - it gets better! We'll burn the best pictures on a CD for everyone to take home and we'll play it during the pot luck dinner on the common area. A great family or group activity. Definitely a favorite! $20/fee to participate - includes Burger and Dog dinner with chips, soda and dessert, a True West T-shirt, a commemorative CD and a chance to win a weekend stay. Join us!

IRON HORSE weekend - August 18th - Too hot to ride your horse? Then bring your Iron Horses (motorcycles) instead of your horses and we'll give you some great routes to ride which will bring you through the twisting and winding roads of Tennessee. Tennessee, all around Big South Fork, has great motorcycle roads. Beautiful overlooks and scenic roadways and rivers - you'll love it. The road is no place for a horse - unless it's an Iron Horse!! Return to True West for a pot luck dinner and some maybe even some live music! (Rain date, August 25th)

Crock Pot Cook-off to benefit the local animal shelter September 15th - Get out those Crock Pot recipes! It doesn't get any easier than this! You throw everything in, plug it in and then go riding. When you come back you've got an awesome home cooked meal without slaving over a hot stove. Well, we're looking for the camper with the best recipe! Cost to participate is $10/pp (including the cooks) but the prize is a 50/50 win. Half the money goes to the cook, the other half goes to the shelter. Then, if you've got a guitar, bring it! We'll finish the night with a little strumming around the campfire!!
Market Place - September 22nd - Do you or someone you know love to craft? How about Direct Sales? Show us your stuff!! We are looking for vendors to join us for our Market Place! September can be a pretty busy month so there is a chance you will get lots of sales!!! Call us if you are interested in a Vendor Spot for as low as $15!     Columbus day Weekend Celebration - October 5th - 8th - Three night minimum stay.     Blood Drive - October 13th - We will be hosting a blood drive here on October 13th. There is such a need out there and with October being such a busy month, there is no better time! The Red Cross will be here between 12:00-7:00pm CST. Everyone is invited to help our fellow Americans in their time of need!
    Halloween Costume Party!- October 27th It's Trick-or-Treat time! Kids get to Trick-or-Treat in the campground and then participate in a parade on horseback! If you are joining us this weekend, please bring a bag of candy for the kids. Then it's Contest time! Costumes for you, Costumes for your dog, Costumes for your horse, Decorate your site! Pot luck - so bring your Ghoulish Grub! Come dressed for the party and there will be prizes for Best Costume in all of the above categories. It's sure to be a SPOOKTACULAR time!

    5th Annual Ceremonial Burning/Retirement of the Flag - November 3rd - Join us, together with the American Legion, Post 137 of Jamestown, TN, In honor of our Veterans as we hold our fifth annual ceremonial burning of the Flag to show that the spirit of the American Flag lives on. If you have a flag you'd like to retire, please bring it along. You are welcome to dedicate it to someone as well. The ceremony will take place at 6:00pm (cst) after sunset and will close with a 21-gun salute. All Military Service Personnel and Veterans are welcome to attend. 50% discount to all Active Military Service Personnel and Veterans wishing to rent a campsite for the weekend (does not include Stalls or lodging). Proof of status required.
    Pet Pictures with Santa - November 10th - What a great Christmas card this would make! Your pet's picture with Santa Claus! Dog, cat, horse, goat, chicken, pig - bring 'em over! Cost is $10/pet. All proceeds go towards the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary. Pictures will be taken between 10:00am and 2:00pm (cst). Help support your local Animal shelter AND get in good with Santa!
    All Girls overnight ride to Charit Creek Lodge - November 16th-18th - Join us on Friday night and then we'll all take a trip on Saturday to Charit Creek, enjoy dinner at the lodge and then saddle up for a moonlight ride! Enjoy a home cooked breakfast the next day and ride back to True West. Space is limited - only 10 covered stalls and 2 corrals available to the first eleven (11) people to sign up. Cost includes lodging, bedding, three meals (dinner Saturday, Breakfast Sunday and sack lunch for Sunday's ride back to True West), stall or corral for your horse and hay for your horse. Call for pricing.
    7th Annual Thanksgiving Day Dinner - November 22nd - Thanksgiving On US! You bring the family, all your friends, neighbors, relatives - and a dessert and we'll supply everything else! Arrive on Wednesday, enjoy dinner with us on Thursday and then make the most of the weekend with two more days of riding!!! (3-night minimum stay)

We'll celebrate TWO times - once for the East Coast Time Zone and once for the Central Time Zone (we are in Central). You can start the night off with a pot luck dinner, all the favorites for New Years and then we'll gather 'round the bon fire to sing in the New Year!!! - Twice as much fun as you've ever had on New Year's Eve!!!
